The MCS group of companies (MCS Test Equipment Ltd and MCS Rentals Limited hereinafter referred to as “MCS”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. Generally MCS are not allowed to share Personal Data with third parties unless safeguards and contractual arrangements have been put in place. We will not sell, distribute or lease your personal information to third parties unless we have your permission or are required by law to do so.
5. COOKIES & OTHER TRACKING TECHNIQUES
5.1 What are cookies?
(a) A cookie is a small text file containing small amounts of information which asks permission to be placed on your device when you visit a website. The cookie helps analyse web traffic or lets you know when you visit a particular site. Cookies allow web applications to respond to you as an individual. The web application can tailor its operations to your needs, likes and dislikes by gathering and remembering information about your preferences.
(b) Cookies can also help to ensure that adverts you see online are more relevant to you and your interests.
(c) We use traffic log cookies to identify which pages are being used. This helps us analyse data about webpage traffic and improve our website in order to tailor it to customer needs. We only use this information for statistical analysis purposes and then the data is removed from the system.
(d) Overall, cookies help us provide a better website, by enabling us to monitor which pages you find useful and which you do not. A cookie in no way gives MCS access to your computer or any information about you, other than the data you choose to share with us.

If you contact us on one of our social media platforms, request guest service via social media, or otherwise direct us to communicate with you via social media, we may contact you via direct message or use other social media tools to interact with you. In these instances, your interactions with us are governed by this privacy notice as well as the privacy notice of the social media platform you use.
5.4 Social Media Adverts
(a) We may display targeted ads to you through social media platforms. These ads are sent to groups of people who share traits such as likely commercial interests and demographics. See the policies of each social media platform for additional information about these types of ads.
6. YOUR RIGHTS
6.1 When you use this website or provide us with your personal data you agree that we may use your personal data for the purposes set out in this notice.
6.2 You have the right to:
(a) request that we stop sending you marketing information;
(b) apply for a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
(c) request that we correct or update any personal data which we hold about you which you believe is inaccurate or out of date;
(d) request that we delete any personal data which we hold about you in certain circumstances;
(e) request that we restrict the processing of your information in certain circumstances;

6.3 You may choose to restrict the collection or use of your personal data when fill in a form on the website by ticking the box indicating you do not want the information to be used by anybody for direct marketing purposes.
7. TRANSFERRING PERSONAL DATA
7.1 The personal data we collect from you is currently held within the European Economic Area (“EEA”). It is possible that in the future such personal data may be transferred, stored and/or processed outside the European Economic Area. By submitting your personal data, you agree to this transfer, storing and/or processing. You should be aware that countries outside the EEA may not offer the same level of data protection as the United Kingdom or the United States. However, we will only allow such data transfer outside the EEA if we have a legally allowable method.

We have put in place procedures to deal with any suspected personal data breach and will notify you and any applicable regulator of a breach where we are legally required to do so.

10.1 This notice was last updated on 1st February 2019. We may update this notice from time to time. When we change this notice in a material way, a notice will be sent out to all customers and posted on our website along with a revised privacy notice. By accessing the website after the revised privacy notice is posted, you consent to the revised privacy notice.
